Yesturday morning, I'm sure it was way to early, I was woken by the noise of one of my loverly cats "playing". The sound of things being knocked over. I did try to ignore it, but then I thought I'd better go and rescue whatever it was she was playing with. I found her hovering in the hall way, sure enough there was a little rodent trying to hide behind a shoe. Now there is one thing about these rodents, they're damn easy to catch, thankfully or my house would be full of em. And they have this loverly little handle to pick them up with. My cats don't kill these things you understand, they just like playing with them, some times I think they bring them inside so they can see what they are, "look mum, what's this, hey, you see what THIS one can do". Frogs for example, not only do they jump, ("wow look at that!"), but they make a noise too, a clicking sound for those who don't know. Then there's the lizards for when the girls are feeling energetic, they move much faster. The little rodents are bigger and are like balls, you toss one up and it lands and stays in one spot for a bit, THEN it moves. Usually I can tell when one of my girls has got something, they make a short meowing noise, unlike the one they make if they see something that they would "like" to play with, but it's bigger than a small rat. This is when they will sit there and look at it in a very intense sort of way, but aren't sure if the thing would let them play. Magpies no longer feel they are a risk, just an annoyance if they get to close. Have to admit it's usually rose who get's the play things, she's smaller, faster and can actually jump unlike her um...u hhmm more "big boned" sister. The one time I WAS glad she killed something was the day she thought she would bring a snake home, only a baby copper belly mind you but.. *roll eyes*

Now to get back to yesturdays plaything, after I had rescued the dazzed little darling and found a jar to put it in, I had to get some clothes on, I took it out back to a nice big tree I've got. With some encouragement it came out of the jar, looking I might say like it thought this was another game. But it soon got the idea it could move more than an inch and not get tossed again. Last I saw it was finding a hole to crawl into.

So another rodent wonders free to be play with another day. There was one time when in three nights in a row, a plaything was brought inside, still not sure if it wasn't the same one???? Oh well till the next time I find something that's been forgotten by my girls and I have to catch it and take it out again. Keep playing.

On a side note; I don't do well with other peoples chicks, unless it's okay to treat them like my own. We have done a "swap the chicks night". Not sure I got the best side of it??? Have told this chick off a bit AND made him eat his dinner. Sigh, SO not my job.

By the way, not the same with soulsis's cubs or half of damsel's chicks.
